The work of Frie J. Jacobs (° 1957 Belgium), grows from the idea of physical connection with the world around us. "To see is to feel". A world which is essentially incomprehensible, we don't know where we come from and where we go to. So, he makes "physical" works with fire and soot, plants and moss, charcoal and rain, but also he uses photography, digital printing, projections or even video. He paints like a painter without paint...It's always pure poetry.   Dagmar De Pooter presents the Exile Project: in this work one can realize it's not the imitation of a world. It's just the natural reality what we see, but in a way it remembers us at an indefinable desire to an origin we do not understand. Exile means banishment. Those series collect rough images of nature. The photos show very intense and subtle images. A sort of banished physical memory which brings back the spectator to a lost source.
